TGIF!

I've been kicking it in pretty hard this week.  I went to my usual Tues/Thurs cycling classes which were anything but "usual" as our coach always knows how to turn it up a notch!  We work hard.  Before we spin, we have 30 min's of core work which usually has my abs screaming "NO MORE"!

I've also been getting up at 4:20 a.m. to go swimming as well.  Running has been 2-3x's per week and i'll keep that up as well.  So, i'm starting to finally get into a routine.

Tomorrow I have 36 flights of stairs to climb at our local "Bop to the Top"...yay.  If you don't hear from me, you'll know I've died of a heart attack :))

  2. good Luck with your Bop to the Top!

on the running front...give yourself a little credit, you are just getting back to it, you are running in cold temperatures and you are using totally different muscles from swimming and cycling.

Try taking small steps (ie a little faster turnover), start doing 10:1's (10 minutes of running & 1 minute of walking) for the time being and instead of stressing over the run, enjoy what you are seeing and hearing. Not too sure where you are running, but when I'm out I love listening to the birds, the wind in the trees, the snowblower's (just kidding on the snowblowers). Seriously, when I run, I give thanks for my many, many blessings and yes, I do pray!

  3. Oh my, 30 minutes of core work BEFORE You get on the bike! That's adding insult to injury :) ....or making you that much stronger. One or the other hahahaha! We have a race like yours here in Lexington next weekend. It's 60 flights of stairs or something. If I didn't have an IT Band that hated me I would do it!
