Our friend Karl pictured here had a massive heart attack in one of our winter spinning classes..technically he was dead and was administered cpr as well as the paddles to restart his heart. He did survive after the Dr's had put stents in his arteries to clear the blocked ones. That was February, not shortly after all of this, Dr. Karl was out riding with his buddies and doing all of the things us cyclists love to do. This picture was taken when we were at his surprise birthday part last month. His friends who revived him from his death experience made this shirt for him. Monday a.m. he passed away in his sleep, I can't tell you the grief we've been feeling. I loved Dr. Karl and so did everyone else who knew him. Saturday will be his funeral and it will be very difficult for us all.
This past weekend was our Canadian holiday so I went back up there to visit with family. It was probably the hottest yet this year, near 95 out on my bike ride..ughhh welcome summer.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family
