Two years....

Two years ago I said "I do"...and other vows.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have known that life and marriage can be such a roller coaster ride....here's to hanging in there!!!

Busy weekend!

This weekend was filled with fun. Friday night we had our first ever meeting of the Indy Ironwomen. We have a page in Facebook. It was fun and we had a great spread of food and drink. I like talking to these women of all different abilities and I hope all of us will become great friends.

Hubby and I went on a shopping spree at Costco. We had about $300.00 in free bucks from using our Costco card over the year. We ended up buying this high end blender. It even will shred your iphone if you wanted :)) It makes frozen drinks in no time flat as well as smoothies and even ice cream. It's crazy!! I whipped up a spinach, carrot, banana, pineapple, ice smoothie after my bike ride. It was delish and so very easy. This is one heavy duty mixer.

On Saturday night we had a been invited to our Dr. friends surprise birthday party. This is the fellow who died right in front of me in one of our cycling classes not so long ago. Lucky for him he was saved by his two best buddies who just happen to be two of the very best Dr's in Indianapolis. We were all in the same class that night and had it not been for the very calm, quick and efficient manner they revived him, I don't think our friend would be here today. I had a blast this weekend.....it's going to be a heavy week of training and i'm so looking forward to it!

(btw..my fridge is filled with beer..note to self..NEVER leave hubby home alone for more than a couple of hours)

New tri mobile

We decided....finally...that we needed a new vehicle. Gone is the BMW to a heavy duty tri mobile. It floats like a dream and I just love driving it.

It's going to be another hot ride tonight! I'm just glad I'm not running :) this weekend was nice too!
I ran the 5k with a friends mother, she was slower and I promised to stay with her which was total fun.

Mega Millions what would you do?

At work we decided to pool our money together and buy tickets for tonights drawing of the Mega Millions.  Apparently you have a greater chance of getting struck by lightening..15x's..in the same day...so why wouldn't you buy a ticket..duhhhhh :))

If I won some money, I know exactly what I would do!  My dad has colon cancer, the health care in Canada is pitiful.  He hasn't even been booked for surgery and treatment..he needs it NOW!!!  I would take the money and bring my dad over to the USA to the best cancer treatment place I could get him into..sad...I know.

Well..send me some good luck vibes..TGIF!!!

New pink tires!

I did an easy ride last night just to see how my lungs would feel. Not too shabby! So I'm signed up to run a bunny 5k on Saturday. Should be a blast, we get bunny ears and glasses :)) I hope I don't hack up a lung or something!

Back from the weekend..

It was a long weekend for me.  Friday had me sick in bed.  Luckily I was able to see my family Dr. by 2:45 that day.  I have acute bronchitis.  I am now on oral steroids, antibiotics and another inhaler.  Today i'm back at work after a lovely weekend of ZERO training and overall crappiness. 

I'll likely hear something on my father later this week.  Cancer sucks!!  He was found to have colon cancer and hopefully this hasn't progressed.  I pretty much cried off and on Saturday and Sunday.  Today I'm just angry, angry he didn't get this checked sooner, angry that Cancer has once again reared it's ugly head in my family.  I am the only one out of my sibling, parents, aunts, grandparents who have seemingly escaped Cancer's ugly grips..for now.

Damn you cancer!

I thought you had enough with my family, you took my grandfather, my aunt, my young sister. My oldest sister beat out breast cancer so far, my mother survived your ugly attempt to take her colon and her, but they both beat you so far. But today you have to pick a fight with my father why... why damn you cancer, damn you to hell.

I have a shoulder owieeeee

I guess with aging comes aging problems, my left shoulder has a rotator problem due to decreased encapsulation.  For now the Dr. prescribed an anti-inflammatory and exercises to strengthen the area.  I'll see him in six weeks to see what's next if it is still pretty sore.  I can swim front crawl and that's it, which is fine.  I don't need the other strokes for triathlon..right :))

Lunch time workout.

I'm tired of looking at all of these chics with super sweet abs.  I decided this a.m. to bring a yoga mat into my office and do the abripper x workout and planks on my lunch hour.  So I closed my door to my office and did 15 min's of ab workouts.  Ouch!

Training is going well.  Except for the heat during my runs, everything is going well.  Swim is good, bike is good, run...well I did run 7 miles this past weekend and decided to sign up for a trail run that will happen this weekend.  5 miles of trails..yipeeeeee

We will be having our convention at this place in July. I walked into the Palmer house during my recent visit there. Chicago is kind of growing on me! It's not that far from where I live and there is lots happening there.
